Giving to SLTP
SLTP is sponsored by the Coalition for the Advancement of Student Activities, Inc. (CASA) which is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. All contributions to CASA are tax-deductible.
Financial Contributions
Our program has annual costs exceeding $75,000 and our all-volunteer staff contributes countless hours to make our programs possible. Any donation you make will help defray our costs and allow us to serve more students. Your financial support can and will have a significant impact. Please Donate Now to make a donation through Network for Good.
Automobiles may also be donated by choosing the "Coalition for the Advancement of Student Activities" athttp://www.donateforcharity.com/index.html
You may also send checks (made payable to CASA) to:

One hundred percent of your contribution goes directly to support our programs throughout the year.
Direct sponsorship of students is the most common method of financial support. Individuals and service organizations are encouraged to sponsor a high school student from their community. Businesses and foundations may make larger contributions by providing grants for multiple students and/or helping to fund SLTP's programs.
In-Kind Contributions
Donations of in-kind products and services are greatly needed to implement our leadership conferences and to support our other youth training efforts. Suggested donations include bus transportation, office supplies, printing, snacks and refreshments, T-shirts and photocopy services. For more in-kind giving ideas, visit our wish list.
Tax Deductions and Deadlines
CASA (SLTP's parent organization), under IRS law, qualifies as a charitable and tax-exempt organization. If an individual makes a charitable gift to SLTP, that gift enables the donor to take an income tax deduction. A gift of cash can be deducted against up to 50% of the donor's adjusted gross income with any excess deducted against up to five successive tax years. A gift of appreciated assets can be deducted against up to 30% of the donor's adjusted gross income. Any excess charitable tax deduction can also be deducted against up to five successive tax years. The calendar year charitable gift deadline for donors filing U.S. federal tax returns, donations must be postmarked by December 31. For full details, consult your tax adviser or IRS publication 526 [PDF].

We maintain a teaching staff of more than 60 dedicated volunteers from all across the country and we are always in need of more. Additionally we need volunteers to help with the preparation and behind the scenes efforts. For more information or to become involved, please contact us.
