The ReEnergizer Conference

The ReEnergizer Conference is a full day leadership training conference.  The schedule is packed and each year the skillshop lessons are very specific to the theme and to the issues raised by the theatrical presentation.  The theatrical presentation provides a central focus and an issue to explore.

The ReE is the largest event (attendance wise) on the SLTP calendar.  The ReEnergizer Conference is so named because it comes at the end of the first quarter when most student activities are gearing up for the busiest time on their calendar.  It is held annually on the Saturday after Thanksgiving at Nichols College.  We are able to bring together our entire leadership staff to accommodate the large audience.

The ReE naturally draws a large portion of its audience from the previous three summers of summer conference alumni, and it is a fun opportunity for old friends to get together again.  Make no mistake though, the ReE is a student leadership conference.  The target audience is just that STUDENT leadership.  The emphasis is not on reunion, the emphasis is on preparation to effectively lead and to make differences.

The ReEnergizer Conference is also a full service conference, as we present specific “skillshops” on four different levels—for high school student leaders, collegians, parents, and advisers. This allows us to take advantage of the fact that many collegians are home on break, and that many parents and advisers are the chauffeurs.  Each of the skillshop tracks present the topics geared towards their specific audience.

The play is student written, and deals with the topic as a student leadership issue.  The accompanying skillshops will focus on communication, collaboration and community involvement.

Finally another feature of the ReE is the annual Activity Fair, wherein groups and specific activities from around the region set up displays to promote and present their ideas.
